I'd like to think the Chinese Spy Balloon didn't want any of this controversy. It just wanted to go for a walk in the park.

Don't blame me, I'm just a Chinese spy balloon
Floating peacefully among the clouds
When I was small I dreamed of being tied up with a string
And walked across the park as smiling children stroll around

Don't hate me, the lonely Chinese spy balloon
They filled me up with gas lighter than air
And brought me to a field and tied some cameras to my tail
Then launched me with no music or fanfare

Balloons were once romanticized like picnics 'bove the trees
And rings slipped on with love from bended knee
While once I'd hoped my passing would yield smiles from the ground
I think those fighter jets are here for me

Think happy thoughts for me the Chinese spy balloon
My fall from grace does not require tears
My moment in the sun was not what I had hoped it'd be
But as they lift me from the waves it seems they'll speak of me for months and maybe years
